OneRepublic’s 2014 Tour Includes DiGiCo SD7 Consoles at FOH, Monitors

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – OneRepublic FOH engineer Zito has been relying on DiGiCo consoles for the band’s performances this year. (The group completed their North American tour leg here Aug. 30 and head to the U.K. and Europe for shows slated from Oct. 19-Nov. 21.) VER provided DiGiCo SD7 consoles for both FOH and monitor positions, with Zito and monitor engineer Matt Manix providing the mix for the fans and the band members. LOS ANGELES — With as many as one in four attendees at the 137th Audio Engineering Society (AES) Convention looking for solutions to live sound challenges, the association has taken steps to address those interests with the inaugural Live Sound Expo. Sponsors include Audinate, DiGiCo, EAW, L-Acoustics, Shure and Yamaha Commercial Audio, with wireless headphone system support from Sennheiser USA.

BOSTON — Meyer Sound systems assured that the two main stages at Boston Calling Music Festival held in Boston in early September were loud and clear. On the Red Stage, the LYON linear sound reinforcement system made an impression on the FOH engineers, many mixing on this new Meyer system for the first time. “That rig really rocked,” said Carl Davino, FOH engineer for The Replacements. “LYON has transparent highs, broad and articulate mids, and adjustable low-mids to handle any desired punch.”

MONTREAL – Corey Hart hung up his sunglasses for good at an emotional sold-out farewell concert for 13,500 hometown fans at Montreal’s Bell Centre, supported by an SSL Live console at FOH. A 1980s phenom, Hart has had nine consecutive Top 40 hits, with “Sunglasses at Night” being his most recognizable. Outfitted with sound services by Solotech in Canada, it was another local Montreal hero, Denis Savage (pictured here) who mixed the show and the week-long rehearsal.
