Offered for free download, the SSL OffLine Setup Application (SOLSA) is a PC-based app for creating and editing SSL Live console showfiles. Nearly anything done on a Live console can be configured “offline” when access to a console is not possible. Functions include console configs, setup of Fader Tile Layers and Banks, Stagebox and I/O routing, scene creation and automation editing. SOLSA also lets users add effects, manipulate channel processing, bus routing and VCA assigns. Built-in user guides have tutorials to anyone wanting to learn console operations.

The all-passive ProMS2 single-channel mic splitter has a mu-metal shielded Eclipse ET-MS10 transformer that’s linear from 20 Hz to 20k Hz with under 0.01% distortion. A mic input with -30dB pad allows using high-level sources without saturation. Its three outputs include: a direct-coupled out (normally connected to the main P.A.) with a return path for 48 volt phantom if a condenser mic or active DI is used; a transformer-isolated out for eliminating ground loop hum and buzz; and a direct aux out with a ground lift switch for feeding stage monitors, recording gear or broadcast truck.
