Audinate Announces New US-Based CEO

VENTURA, CA —Audinate has appointed Lee Ellison as CEO. Ellison’s appointment coincides with the Australia-based company's establishment of a U.S.-based headquarters including sales, marketing and customer support. Ellison has worked in a variety of technology sectors, most recently as CEO of SustainOne, a strategic consulting company. Prior to that, Ellison was sales and marketing officer of Dilithium Networks and general manager of Glenayre’s wireless business unit.

PIPERSVILLE, PA — SurgeX has merged its North American operations with Electronic Systems Protection, Inc. (ESP). SurgeX management will join the ESP team and all product manufacturing will be consolidated into ESP’s facility in Zebulon, N.C.  Michael McCook, SurgeX senior principal, pictured here at left, and Steve Cole, ESP president, right, made the announcement.

LAFAYETTE, La. —Louisiana-based Gulf Coast Sound (GCS) and consultants Acoustic Dimensions (Dallas) recently installed an Electro-Voice XLC sound system into the Cajundome in Lafayette, La. The 12,086-seat Cajundome is the Lafayette area’s premiere venue for regional and national concert tours, the Louisiana State Boys Basketball Tournament, and also serves as the home for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s men and women’s basketball teams. 

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Riding high on virtually every category of Billboard’s music charts, having won her first American Music Award for Favorite Female Artist (Country Music) and outselling just about every other artist with her new album, Fearless, Taylor Swift is positively red hot. Swift recently performed to a sell-out crowd of 9,500 at the University of Tennessee’s McKenzie Arena with an Aero line array setup from DAS Audio.

The new model, the Spectran HF60100, is a handheld RF analyzer, which features the following specifications: frequency range 1MHz to 9.4GHz, sensitivity -130dbm, bandwidth resolution 1KHz, stability 0.5PPM and accuracy +/- 1dB.

LOS ANGELES — Harman International Industries audio products will play a key role in the new Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. The new museum is a collaboration between The Recording Academy, the membership organization responsible for the GRAMMY Awards and Anshutz Entertainment Group, and was founded to celebrate the legacies of music and its recognition through the Grammy Award.

PHENIX CITY, Ala. — Golden Acres Baptist Church recently underwent two changes—one gradual and the other abrupt—which necessitated an overhaul of their no-longer-adequate sound system. First, the church slowly introduced contemporary elements into their services, which placed more demands on their old system than it was able to withstand. Second, the church added a 225-seat balcony to its existing 500-seat sanctuary, requiring a complete shift in coverage patterns.
