SACRAMENTO, CA — David L. MacDonald conceived of Sacramento’s first “Best of Broadway” charity show in 1973. Since then, the volunteer troupe has raised money for various causes. Earlier this year, they performed The Cotton Patch Gospel in support of Sacramento Family Promise. Local audio engineer Michael Strange (pictured here), who served as sound designer for the production, relied upon gear from Lectrosonics.

SENIGALLIA, Italy — The Summer Jamboree is a festival of American Rockabilly and Swing music and culture from the 1940s and 1950s. The event, conceived and organized by the Cultural Summer Jamboree Association and promoted by the Municipality of Senigallia in collaboration with Regione Marche and private sponsors, has grown in popularity, and this year included four stages. Top Service, a rental company, provided four K-array KH15’s for the main stage and K-array KH4’s for two of the other stages.

MFO Producciones Buys Flashline PA

Colorado Concerts Canceled Amid Heavy Rain, Flooding

DENVER — With communities along Colorado’s Front Range pounded by more than half their usual annual rainfall within the span of a few days in mid-September, resulting floods and rock slides created widespread damage to the region’s mountain infrastructure, knocking out power, backing up sewers and washing out many of the roadways that wind their way alongside normally-dry riverbanks. Numerous concerts had to be canceled or postponed as a result.

Wolfszeit Festival Howls with ProAudio Technology Gear

CRISPENDORF, Germany – The Wolfszeit open-air festival in Crispendorf near Schleiz in Thuringia is one of the few pagan and darkmetal festivals in Germany. Gear from ProAudio Technology was used for the  monitoring along with the main P.A. for the event, which drew about 3,000 visitors. The setup included 10 HT16 tops, 16 SW18 and eight SW28 subs.

AES Publishes New Networked Audio-Over-IP Interoperability Standard

NEW YORK, NY— The Audio Engineering Society (AES) has published AES67-2013, a new engineering standard for networked/streaming audio-over-IP interoperability. A number of networked audio systems have been developed to support high-performance media networking, but until now there were no recommendations for operating these systems in an interoperable manner. AES67-2013 provides interoperability recommendations regarding synchronization, media clock identification, network transport, encoding and streaming, session description and connection management.
