QSC Names John White VP, R&D

COSTA MESA, CA – QSC Audio Products, LLC named John White vice president, Research and Development. White has extensive experience at companies ranging from Avid, Dolby and Disney to Clair Brothers and Maryland Sound International. He has also toured with artists including Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon, Luther Vandross, Jerry Garcia and Yes, among others. He most recently served as vice president of engineering at THX. In his new role at QSC, White will be providing technical and managerial leadership within the R&D department, reporting to QSC COO Jatan Shah.

Peavey released the latest additions to its PVM series, the PVM 44 (left) and PVM 50 (right). The microphones are dynamic cardioid and super dynamic cardioid microphones, respectively. Both have neodymium magnet capsules with transformer output, frequency response of 50 Hz – 16 kHz, weigh 1.53 lbs. and come with mic clips and hardshell cases. Soundcraft ViSi Remote 2.0 for Si and Vi Consoles

Harman’s Soundcraft announced Version 2.0 of its ViSi Remote iPad app for Soundcraft Vi, Si Compact, Si Performer and Si Expression consoles. Version 2.0 lets users of Si Compact, Performer and Expression consoles adjust channel strip settings per channel including settings such as Gate, Compressor and EQ along with Pan, LR/Mono routing and phase invert switches. This functionality will be added to Vi consoles in a future update.

Thunder Audio Deploys VTX, Crown Amps at ACL Music Festival

AUSTIN, TX – For the Austin City Limits Music Festival, held for the first time on two consecutive weekends Oct. 4-6 and 11-13, Thunder Audio provided a Harman JBL VTX line array system powered by Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers. The system included 36 VTX V25 flown 18 per side with eight V25 cabinets per side for the outside hang. For the low end, Thunder Audio provided 48 VTX S28 subwoofers in two hangs of 12 each on either side of the stage, with 24 ground-stacked S28 subs across the front of the stage. The system was powered by 86 Crown I-Tech HD amplifiers networked and controlled with JBL HiQnet Performance Manager.
