Sennheiser Responds to FCC’s Latest Proposed Implementation of “White Spaces” Restrictions

OLD LYME, CT – Joe Ciaudelli, Sennheiser’s expert on “white spaces” issues, shared the company’s May 4 response to the FCC’s recent Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM). Ciaudelli also noted that NPRM reply comments are due by June 2, 2020. Sennheiser advocated for several modifications, urging the FCC to expand Part 74 license eligibility and improve the interference registration process, while cautioning against other changes in rules such as the WSD antenna height above ground level limit (AGL).

DETROIT – Thunder Audio supplied and deployed an L-Acoustics K1/K2 loudspeaker system for Post Malone’s recent “Runaway” tour, with Julian Gates serving as the systems engineer on the most recent tour leg. FOH and monitor engineers Joseph Hellow and Travon Snipes used DiGiCo SD5 consoles for the trek, which began last fall and continued this year before it was interrupted by Covid-19 in mid-March.

Chicago’s Grant Park Music Festival, and Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, Canceled

CHICAGO – While there’s no official word on Lollapalooza (July 30-Aug. 2) and the Pitchfork festival (July 17-19), Chicago music lovers got the bad news May 4 that the Grant Park Music Festival, which had been set to run from June 20-Aug. 15, will be cancelling for 2020. A week earlier, the Ravinia Festival, which runs from June through September in Highland Park, IL, was canceled in its entirety for 2020.
