FOH Editor to Host NAMM TECnology Hall of Fame

ANAHEIM, CA — Ten historic musical and sound inventions dating from 1947 through 2000 (including the 1970-vintage ARP 2600 analog synthesizer, pictured here) will be inducted to the 10th annual NAMM TECnology Hall of Fame, Saturday, Jan. 24 at the Winter NAMM 2015 show. Harman Launches VTX PRO Seminar Series

NORTHRIDGE, CA – Harman’s JBL Professional recently launched its VTX PRO Seminar Series with an event that took place in Orlando, FL on Jan. 15. More than 20 more seminars are planned, with an itinerary that dovetails with the current Linkin Park tour. The seminars are led by Ken “Pooch” Van Druten, FOH engineer for Linkin Park; Jim Digby, tour director for Linkin Park and president of the Event Safety Alliance; Vic Wagner, system engineer for Sound Image; and Vinnie Perreux, Harman Professional’s market manager, tour sound. Rigger Ryan Lipman, 31, Dies in Fall Near NFL Super Bowl Site

GLENDALE, AZ — Ryan “Scrappy” Lipman, 31, died Jan. 14 after falling more than 25 feet to a stage under construction for the NFL’s Super Bowl XLIX tailgate party outside the University of Phoenix Stadium. Emergency responders transported Lipman from the work site to the hospital about noon. Lipman succumbed to his injuries after reaching the hospital.
