It amazes me how many schools and colleges now offer audio engineering as a degree program. Quite a few of the resumes I receive from aspiring applicants list a diploma from one of these programs, but while there is great merit in having a degree from one of these schools, there is no assurance the holder of said degree will land the coveted television show or studio position they desire.

SUGAR HILL, GA — Gwinnett Church, a campus of the popular North Point Ministries group with six churches in the Atlanta area, opened a new 1,300-seat auditorium for the three services that 3,000 congregants attend each Sunday. The church installed two DiGiCo SD10 digital audio consoles for FOH and monitor mixes, the centerpieces of a new sound system that also includes Martin MLA loudspeakers and d&b audiotechnik J-Sub cardioid subwoofers, were sold and installed by Alpharetta-based dealer/integrator Clark ProMedia.

Purchased by the singer’s head of sound, Martin Laumann, the system comprises a GLD-112 at FOH and the new Chrome GLD-80 on monitors, connected via Dante, with an additional AR2412 and two AR0804 remote IO racks.
