Friendly Fires Tour with Midas Gear

LONDON – Simon Lutkin, monitor engineer for the U.K.-based band, Friendly Fires, credited the Midas PRO6 for offering “the best of both worlds – a great familiar Midas analog sound in a flexible digital package.” The band is preparing for its 2012 tour across Australia, Asia and into South America, and, based on his experience with the PRO6, Lutkins might give the new Midas PRO2 a try.

Audio Logic Uses d&b audiotechnik xA-Series for 97-Year-Old Church

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – Audio Logic provided xA-Series loudspeakers from d&b audiotechnik’s White loudspeaker range for St. Paul’s United Methodist Church to address a double challenge: the semi-circular shape of the 97-year-old church’s sanctuary, and the restrictions preventing acoustical treatments from being used at the church, which was designed by architect Louis Sullivan and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The restrictions also led Audio Logic to create suspension systems concealed above the ceiling for the three clusters of gear that they installed.

LOS ANGELES — Todd Morgan, one of the founders of Jan-Al Cases, died on Dec. 20, 2011 after a long illness. He was 59. Prior to joining Jan and Muffie Alejandro, Morgan had worked at Studio Instrument Rentals (where he met Jan) and at Almo/Irving, a music publishing firm.
