There is no definitive way of setting up gain structure and mixing a show but, after much time and years of practice, we all learn the right way to go about achieving our desired results. While the “art” of mixing may not be an exact science, there are still many precise and defined rules to which we need to adhere as we master our craft and practice our “art.” The rules that define right from wrong are not only imperatives for mixing, but are also the tenets that extend to every aspect of a given production.

Gibson Buys Stake in Onkyo Japan and Majority Interest in Onkyo USA

NASHVILLE – Gibson Guitar Corp. announced a strategic partnership with Onkyo Corporation, saying Onkyo offers Gibson’s newly-formed Pro Audio Division substantial technology resources.  Gibson, in turn, will provide Onkyo with its marketing resources and expertise. As part of the deal, Gibson will acquire a majority of Onkyo USA, which is Onkyo’s exclusive distributor for North America and a distributor for Central and South America. The move also makes Gibson the second-largest shareholder in Onkyo Corporation.

University of Louisville Stadium Expansion Includes More than 400 Tannoy Loudspeakers

LOUISVILLE, KY — The $72 million expansion of University of Louisville’s Papa John’s stadium, home of the Cardinals football team, included more than 400 Tannoy loudspeakers, including the 14 Tannoy VQ NET 40 MHs placed along the top of the northern video wall/scoreboard and Tannoy CVS6, CMS 601 DC BM, CMS 801 BM subs and CVS4 speakers elsewhere around the stadium complex. The expansion boosted total seating capacity by close to 15,000, to a total 55,000. PMK Consultants and Acoustical Audio Designs (AAD) worked on the sound design and installation.
