Sound Art Uses Axient, Shure Wireless at Calgary Stampede

CALGARY — Sound Art general manager Dan Frerichs took responsibility for coordinating wireless frequencies at the TransAlta Grandstand Show during the 10-day Calgary Stampede. He used four channels of Axient and 16 channels of Shure UHF-R wireless to guard against dropouts for performances by country music star Paul Brandt and  perennial Stampede cast members The Young Canadians.

PUTNAM VALLEY, NY — Run DMC’s Darryl McDaniels performed and spoke before an audience of kids recently at at Camp Felix, a camp for underprivileged children operated by The New York Foundling, a family services organization specializing in child welfare. Ben Escobedo, RF services & field support engineer, technical services at Sennheiser, supported the event’s audio needs with a pair of K-array KR 200 loudspeakers and other gear donated for the event by Sennheiser, including an ew135 G3 wireless system and e835, e935 and e965 wired microphones.

Lakewood Church Upgrades with JBL VTX Loudspeakers, Crown I-Tech HD Amplifiers

HOUSTON — Lakewood Church, the largest “megachurch” in the U.S., recently received a complete audio upgrade to its 16,800-seat facility. Working with Shawn Mullins and Joe Smart of Houston-based sound contractor Covenant Communications, the team designed and installed a Harman audio system featuring JBL’s new VTX Series line arrays and subwoofers along with Crown Audio I-Tech HD Series amplifiers and BSS Audio BLU-800 signal processors.
