Princess Cruises Welcomes L-ISA Onboard

SANTA CLARITA, CA – Princess Cruises deployed L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal Sound on two ships in the fleet, their Diamond Princess and Sun Princess ships, with an assist from L-Acoustics certified provider Norwest Productions. The frontal Scene systems for both ships use five arrays of six Kiva II ultra-compact modular line source speakers across the width of the stage. These are augmented with ARCS WiFo cabinets to widen the panorama with an Extension system, along with two SB18 subwoofers.

NAPA, CA – The seventh annual BottleRock Festival was a Memorial Day weekend celebration of gourmet food and wine along with tasty music from 80+ acts including Imagine Dragons, Pharrell Williams, Santana, Neil Young and Mumford & Sons and others attended by 120,000. In Memoriam: Alan Rogan, 68

LONDON – Alan Rogan, longtime guitar tech for Pete Townshend of The Who and other rock ‘n’ roll guitarists, died July 3 after a long illness. He was 68. A guitarist himself who performed with Aretha Franklin and his own band, Blues Club, Rogan had been with The Who since the mid-1970s. Townshend’s famous penchant for abusing his instruments as part of his stage act kept Rogan busy, of course, and Rogan looked after the gear needs of other band members as well.

Meyer Sound Powers 2019 Roskilde Festival

ROSKILDE, Denmark – Meyer Sound returned to Denmark as the exclusive sound provider for the Roskilde Festival, Northern Europe’s largest and longest-running music festival. Nearly 1,000 Meyer Sound loudspeakers, supplied by leading European AVL integrator Bright Group, were deployed across all festival stages and performance spaces. The 2019 event took place June 29-July 6.
