Balashikha Arena Scores with Outline Sound

MOSCOW – For sound reinforcement at the "Balashikha,” the home arena of the great "MVD MO" ice hockey team, almost a hundred Outline loudspeaker systems have been permanently installed: the units are a combination of line-array, point source and stage monitor systems.

HOUSTON – LD Systems (Houston) deployed three sizes of Electro-Voice line array — X-Line, XLC and XLD — for the recent NCAA college basketball South Regional “Sweet Sixteen” playoffs at Reliant Stadium in Houston.

The new Dynacord Variline range is designed to deliver state-of-the-art acoustic performance and multi-functional hardware accessories for permanent install and mobile applications. The VL 62 full range cabinet (150W RMS & 122 dB max SPL) features a neodymium 6.5-inch woofer and a 1-inch compression driver mounted to a CAD-optimized 90 x 40 rotateable horn for high SPL applications where minimal footprint is a main concern.

Burbank, CA – Electrosonic has provided most of the video displays and audio systems in the public areas, exhibit galleries and theaters at the Newseum, which opens in Washington, D.C. this month. A seven-level, high-tech interactive museum, the Newseum traces the history of news reporting from the 16th century to the present. With AV systems installed by Electrosonic, the Newseum boasts 250,000 square feet of exhibit space and includes 14 major galleries and a 4D time-travel experience.

MODESTO, CA – The Mary Stuart Rogers (capacity 1,250) and Foster Family Theaters (capacity 444) are designed with state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment. Audio systems design for both theaters was by Media Systems Design Group (Los Angeles, Ca), Timothy Hart, principal. Lighting Design was by Lighting Design Alliance (Long Beach, Ca), Chip Israel, project head. Audio installation was performed by Professional Communication Design (PCD) out of Santa Rosa.                  

DALLAS – Lost Highway Records released Shelby Lynne’s 10th studio album, Just a Little Lovin. The collection is a spare, mesmerizing tribute to the late Dusty Springfield that Lynne sums up by saying. “This is sacred ground to me.” To promote the new album, Shelby and her band have embarked on a U.S. tour, which will be followed by dates in the UK in the fall. On stage, everything that needs a microphone gets a Heil microphone, including Shelby Lynne.

BURBANK, CA – For the rock band Matchbox Twenty’s current Exile in America tour, which includes engagements at the Nokia Theatre in Dallas, Madison Square Garden in New York City, Broomfield Events Center in Denver, and Staples Center in Los Angeles, the band is using Royer Labs R-121 ribbon microphones extensively.
