Yamaha Launches CL Series Digital Consoles, StageMix Version 3 at PL+S

FRANKFURT, Germany — Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc. launched the new CL Series of digital consoles, a Dante network-based console featuring remote I/O for a faster, more responsive Yamaha system solution, at Prolight + Sound. Along with the new consoles – CL5, CL3 and CL1 – the company also announced the latest update for its StageMix iPad App available for Yamaha M7CL and LS9 digital consoles: StageMix Version 3.

Turbosound Features Flashline Line Arrays, TMW-112 Wedges at PL+S

FRANKFURT, Germany — At Prolight + Sound (Hall 8, H40) Turbosound featured its Flashline large scale line array system powered by Lab.gruppen with Lake processing and Dante networking. Turbosound also added to its line of high performance floor monitors with the TMW-112 wedge (pictured here). The company also previewed its next step into compact line array territory, the  TFA-400 constant curve line array loudspeaker. It’s designed for live music venue installs, theatre, and in-fill/out-fill applications and can be used to complement larger Flex Array systems.

Sweetwater Supports Group’s Bid to Defend the Gold in 2012 World Choir Games

FORT WAYNE, IN — The World Choir Games are coming to Cincinnati, OH this July, the first time ever on U.S. soil. That means that Fort Wayne-based Unity Performing Arts Foundation (UPAF) and its Voices of Unity Choir, which traveled to China to compete in 2010, won’t have to travel nearly as far. Even so, the group, which returned from China with two gold medals, still needs to raise funds for its 2012 effort to defend the gold. Sweetwater (also based in Fort Wayne) once again lent its support: a “lead gift” of $50,000 for the cause.

Outline Unveils New Subwoofers at Prolight + Sound

FRANKFURT, Germany — Along with its new GTO-SUB, which completes the GTO (Grand Touring Outline) series, Outline featured an assortment of new subwoofer models at Prolight + Sound, Hall 8, F80. The others include the FLYSUB 15 iMode Powered subwoofer, with a long-stroke 15” loudspeaker (designed for the reinforcement of the low frequencies of the Mini-COM.P.A.S.S. vertical line array);  the FLYSUB 15 passive subwoofer (designed for use with the new EIDOS 265 LA passive vertical line array); the DBS 18-2, a passive sub with two 18” long-stroke loudspeakers; the DBS 18-2 iMode, a powered version of the DBS 18-2 (pictured here); and the EIDOS 108 S, a passive subwoofer that’s part of the EIDOS series.
