Harman Names Adrian Curtis Senior Director, EMEA

POTTERS BAR, U.K. —Harman Professional promoted Adrian Curtis to senior director, EMEA Regional Sales Operations (RSO). Curtis, a 21-year company veteran, previously served as head of sales for the company’s Soundcraft and Studer brands.  In his new role he will lead sales operations for all of Harman’s professional brands and will report to Scott Robbins, Harman’s executive vice president of sales.

Dante-MY16-AUD Updated for Remote Head Amp Control

BUENA PARK, CA — Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems, Inc., which markets the Audinate Dante-MY16-AUD Mini-YGDAI interface card, noted that it been updated to allow remote head amp control. The updated version allows the head amps in the new Rio3224-D and Rio1608-D I/O rack units, developed for the new Yamaha CL console line, to be remotely controlled from an M7CL, LS9, PM5D, DM2000, and DM1000 digital mixing console.

Calrec Opens California Office

SANTA CLARITA, CA — U.K.-based Calrec announced Oct. 4 that it has opened an office here to support customers in the western, southeastern, and south central U.S. and also western Canada. Peter Gabriel Tours with Firehouse-Supplied L-Acoustics K1 System

LOS ANGELES — Firehouse Productions deployed a full L-Acoustics K1 system for Peter Gabriel’s North American Back To Front trek from Sept. 16-Oct. 14. The tour marks the 25th anniversary of the album, So. On most tour stops, there are L-R hangs of 14 K1 plus six KARA below for down-fill, with adjacent hangs of eight K1-SB subs. Typical out-fills include an additional 10 K1 and six KARA flown per side, paired with eight ARCS and six dV-DOSC below for front- and lip-fill.

University of Santo Tomas gymnasium, Manila

New Sports Complex in the Philippines Installs Adamson SpekTrix

MANILA — To celebrate 400 years, the University of Santo Tomas here constructed a sports complex that includes a 54,000-square-foot, 5,792-capacity gymnasium. Crystal Audio installed Adamson’s SpekTrix line arrays — the gear’s debut in the island nation. After testing, installers found that the compact units were powerful enough to change the speaker-to-subwoofer element count in the six main hangs from 6:1 to 4:1. Four supplementary trapezoidal fill boxes were used for the center of the court.
