Pope Francis’ Plain of Sibari Mass Reinforced with Outline Loudspeakers

CALABRIA, Italy – Outline Butterfly and Mantas loudspeaker systems amplified the voice of Pope Francis on the occasion of the Holy Mass celebrated on the Plain of Sibari here before an estimated 250,000 worshippers June 21. The rig included 56 Butterfly modules, 24 Mantas modules and 24 Subtech 218 for low-end reinforcement. In the vicinity of the Papal chair, two Outline DVS 8, two stage monitor H.A.R.D. 212 and two H.A.R.D. 115 speakers were installed. The choir had other H.A.R.D. 212 monitors at its disposal, while Tripla, Doppia and DVS 10 enclosures covered other areas of the stage. Dee Jay Service from Rende (Cosenza) provided the gear.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival Using Meyer Sound MINA Loudspeakers

ASHLAND, OR – The Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s first full reinforcement setup in its Allen Elizabethan Theatre centers on Meyer Sound MINA line array loudspeakers. The system uses split center arrays of MINA loudspeakers, with two arrays of seven covering the orchestra and two of five covering the balcony. Outer left and right clusters of two-each UPQ-1P and UPQ-2P loudspeakers per side add stereo dimension for music and effects, while four 500-HP subwoofers supply musical low end and convincing effects—such as the giant’s footsteps heard in the production of Into the Woods.

Hollywood Casino Installs Martin Audio MLA Gear

CHARLES TOWN, WV––Control Point Technology of Lebanon, PA recently installed a Martin Audio MLA Compact loudspeaker system for the Event Center at Hollywood Casino, which opened here in early July 2014. The system includes seven MLA Compact enclosures per side with six DSX subs and four DD6s for front-fill mounted sub-stage just under the stage lip. Two Martin Audio WT3s in the back of the room provide outfill for the rear seats and a stage monitoring system consisting of eight LE1200s, two LE1500 monitor wedges and a pair of Blackline H3+ for sidefill.

BROOKLYN, NY – Nina Persson, frontwoman for the Sweden-based pop group, The Cardigans, recently completed an international solo tour traveling through Europe and the U.S. Engineer Oscar Soederland used an Allen & Heath GLD-80 digital mixer to manage FOH and monitor sound. Sweden-based Parashoot supplied the GLD-80 along with an AR2412 remote IO rack and additional AR84.

Hanover Theatre in Worcester, MA Upgrades with EAW Anya

WORCESTER, MA  – The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts, based here, recently upgraded its sound reinforcement system. EAW’s Application Support Group (ASG) worked with the venue’s head of audio, Nick Joyce, on the new system that includes 12 Anya modules hung L-R (six per side) from the proscenium. Gino Pellicano, EAW ASG specialist, credited the use of Resolution software as a time-saver for the project, while also noting the ability of the Anya components to solve acoustic challenges within the space.

Cadac Audio Names Mitch Mortenson Technical Support Manager
