Outline Powers Italy’s Siren Festival

The brand-new Siren festival made its debut in a small picturesque town on the Abruzzo Adriatic coast in Italy, powered by an Outline sound system. The sound systems increased in size from the Outline DVS enclosures installed for the small stages at the Palazzo d’Avalos gardens and Rotonda Viale Dalmazia, through the Arena delle Grazie, where bands had at their disposal 6+6 Outline Mantas and two DBS 18-2 subs, to the courtyard of the 16th century Palazzo d’Avalos, which was equipped with two main hangs of twelve Mantas systems and six DBS 18-2 subwoofers.

Powersoft to Present on Advanced Subwoofer Design at AES Convention

LOS ANGELES – Powersoft will present working methodologies and loudspeaker application scenarios on its M-Force linear motor technology at the upcoming AES convention in Los Angeles. First introduced at the 136th AES Convention in Berlin [A Novel Moving Magnet Linear Motor: Convention Paper 9060, by Claudio Lastrucci], the Los Angeles presentation will take place Oct. 10 between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. It will explore applications such as cabinet design using new, electro-dynamic transducers based on a moving magnet linear motor instead of a traditional moving coil.

SES Provides MLA System for Zac Brown Band at Wrigley Field

CHICAGO – SES (Special Event Services) set up what president Jim Brammer called “the largest outdoor MLA system deployed in North America thus far” for a sold-out Zac Brown concert that drew 40,000 to Wrigley Field here. With 170 enclosures in all, the setup included a main hang of 22 MLA over 2 MLD per side; 24 MLA Compact per side for outfill; 8 flown MLX subs per side and 24 MLX in 12 stacks of two across the entire downstage area; 4 MLA Compact in a straight array per side for off left/right front fill; 6 W8LMD across the downstage edge for lip fill, and 24 MLA for delays.
