SALT LAKE CITY, UT — Salt Lake City’s LDS Conference Center has taken a recent installation of an L-ACOUSTICS dV-DOSC loudspeaker system. First opened in the spring of 2000, the 1.4 million-square-foot Conference Center is home to the semi-annual LDS General Conference, which packs in a full house and is broadcast worldwide out to 12 million people. NEW YORK — San Francisco-based sound artist Bill Fontana has completed a sound sculpture entitled Panoramic Echoes in New York City’s Madison Square Park. The sonic art project uses four Meyer Sound SB-1 parabolic long-throw sound beams to project sounds into the park from distant buildings in multiple directions.

Read More »I try not to take gigs in Vegas. Long story — but there is a bag of cash, a couple of wiseguys a stripper and a broken down XL4 involved. If I told you they would have to take me out of witness protection, so there you go. Anyway, through a string of dubious events, I found myself working a freelance gig in Vegas. The gig was designed to help bring people in for a much larger event. It seems to me that if you need small events to "spruce up" the larger event then more than likely the main deal needs to be re thought — That's a whole other thing — Anyway, my job was production manager for the live concert portion of this "big event".
