MIAMI — D.A.S. Audio appointed Carlos A. Henao to the position of sales and technical support. Henao will identify sales opportunities, assist customers with product selection, and guide them through all aspects of the sales transaction. As an application specialist, he will also conduct product demonstrations, respond to inquiries and provide field application support.
Henao’s experience includes extensive travel throughout Latin America and Europe, where he served as both FOH and monitor engineer for a number of touring acts. For the past 20 years, Henao operated his own production company, Paradise Production Services, and was responsible for installations including Miami, Florida’s Club Space, Club Level, and Prive, as well as the Jet Lounge in New York.
Henao also spent 10 years as the production manager / audio engineer for Grace Jones, handling a variety of duties for her performances worldwide. He has also worked as a programmer / audio technician at the Las Vegas Hilton, where he mixed production shows and bands and oversaw the installation, programming, tuning, and maintenance of the facility’s audio, lighting, video and automation systems.
“I’m honored to be joining the D.A.S. Audio team,” Henao said. “D.A.S. is widely recognized as a leader in the professional audio space and the opportunity to contribute to the success of this company is exciting for me. I look forward to the challenges this position presents.”
“Carlos has worked in the live sound trenches, so he understands first-hand the issues that routinely confront live sound professionals,” said Jaime Villegas, D.A.S. Audio USA’s general manager. The experience of working at the Las Vegas Hilton, meanwhile, “make him very well suited to interface with system integrators as they blend audio and video into today’s sophisticated multimedia presentation systems,” Villegas added.
