TORONTO — If you’re enjoying a balmy January in Brazil or Singapore, what would make you fly into Port Perry, Ontario, and brave some of the coldest and snowiest days of the winter? Some of the 30 attendees at Adamson’s Distributors Meeting traveled that far, convening at Adamson headquarters and Port Perry’s town hall, which also houses the local community theatre. Distributors met and discussed Adamson developments such as the company’s five-stage in-line wash system, an automated powder line and the automated driver assembly line, among other topics. For some, this visit marked their first visit to the factory.
Distributor attendees included, from France, DV2; Italy, Reference Laboratory; Spain, Seesound; Portugal, Merging Select; Scandinavia, Adamson Scandinavia; Germany, Trius GmbH; the Netherlands, Sound & Light Import; Poland, Megamusic; Greece, DN’A; Brazil, Sotex; Latin America, Abba Trading; Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, Team108; Korea, Sound Solution; and China, EAD. Andy Weingaertner and Jochen Sommer also attended as European Support.
During the event, Adamson also unveiled a new product series set to debut at Pro Light + Sound this April in Frankfurt, Germany. The sneak peak was staged at Port, a restaurant in Pickering, Ontario, using a new DiGiCo SD8 console manned by DiGiCo’s James Gordon and David Webster.
