GAINESVILLE, FL – After years of cross-town competition, the owners of Vivid Sky Productions and Bunt Backline Event Services, both natives of Gainesville, have joined forces.
The merger, prompted in no small part by the Covid-19 shutdowns, has been in effect since Jan. 1, 2022. The new company retains Vivid Sky Productions as the company name. The website is at www.vividskypro.com .
“We are excited to continue to grow together and combine our experience with their innovation and drive to create a bigger, better production company that can serve events large and small,” noted the two owners, John “John Pop” Papoulis and Eric Lenasbunt, in a joint statement.
Along with a newly pooled rental inventory available from their 6,000-square-foot warehouse that includes everything from DiGiCo consoles to Absen LED walls, Vivid Sky also announced the addition of a $400,000 K3 rig from L-Acoustics to their equipment lineup to better handle larger concerts in the area.
Papoulis and Lenasbunt have also adopted a mission to revitalize Gainesville’s Live Music Scene by starting a concert promotion company, and they’ve bought into ownership of a downtown venue to renovate it and bring some great concerts back to Gainesville.
