LAS VEGAS – The Parnelli Awards Board of Advisors has announced a preview of the evening’s festivities when we gather for the 20th Annual Parnelli Honors gala on June 3, 2022 in Anaheim, CA.
“When we heard NAMM was moving from January to June, we all knew instantly that it was less than ideal for the Parnelli Awards,” said Executive Producer Terry Lowe. “To name just one reason, it’s the height of the touring season, meaning that most if not all individual award winners will be out on the road. So, we pivoted, and we’re excited about what this gathering of the tribe will be.”
The gala will focus on celebrating the three remarkable individuals who are receiving career achievement awards: David Bernstein of Rock-it Cargo (Lifetime Achievement Award); Peter Morse, who has provided innovative lighting designs for some of the biggest and most successful tours in live music history (Visionary Award); and Sam Berkow, who invented the SMAART software and designed some of our greatest-sounding concert halls (Audio Innovator Award).
Since not even the pandemic could stop the flow of game-changing products, the show will also include presenting the four Indispensable Technology Awards (Lighting, Staging, Video, and Audio). The newest award honoring emerging talent, NextGen, will also be handed out. “And we will pause to say goodbye to those we have lost this year with our In Memoriam reel,” Lowe said.
The cocktail parties before and after will be extended. “While there will be those who can’t make it, those who do will be part of a truly exceptional evening,” said Parnelli Producer Kevin Mitchell. “It’s really going to focus on our lifetime honorees, and thus be an evening of emotion and celebration. The extended cocktail hours mean more networking and visiting with friends old and new. It’s going to be a blast.”
