New from Spanish pro audio manufacturer Idea Pro Audio, the EXO SM16-A is a high-power, compact stage monitor that provides high SPLs, expanded dynamic headroom and deep LF extension in a shallow, low-profile cabinet.
The EXO SM16-A features onboard powering via a 1,200-watt, Class-D Powersoft amplification module that runs integrated 24-bit DSP (with four selectable presets) to drive dual 8” Beyma woofers and a 1.4” exit HF compression driver with a 3” voicecoil coupled on a 80 x 50-degree horn.
The rugged birch plywood enclosure has a 1.5mm Aquaforce coated-steel grille and a 36mm pole mount cup (and 14 threaded M8 inserts) that allows the EXO SM16-A to double as a fill speaker or a short-throw compact P.A. speaker. Options include a tilt & lock U-bracket for pole mounting and truss suspension. A two-unit wheeled flight-case (with all necessary power and signal cabling) is also optional, as well as soft-padded protective covers.
Stated specs include: a 52 Hz – 20,000 Hz frequency response (-10dB); 130/136 dB max SPL; and universal 100V – 240V, 50-60 Hz powering. Weight is 64 pounds and dimensions are (WxHxD) 18.5 x 12.6 x 20.2 inches.
