FLORENCE, AL — Regional sound company Sweet Tree Productions (of Muscle Shoals, AL) recently got the call to provide audio for an outdoor (socially distanced) graduation ceremony at Braly Municipal Stadium for Florence High School’s class of 2020. The venue, a 14,215-seat stadium in Florence, AL, is the home field of the University of North Alabama Lions and the Florence High School Falcons football teams.
Founded in 1999, Sweet Tree Productions specializes in providing pro sound reinforcement and prides itself as being a “one-stop shop” for also supplying staging, lighting and video for a wide range of area customers. “We were happy to be a part of Florence High School’s class of 2020 graduation ceremony,” says company owner Bryan Ogletree, who handled FOH mixing and systems engineering for the event, assisted by P.A. techs Josh Keel and Tanner Plunk.
“To cover both the audience seating on the away and home sides,” Ogletree continues, “we employed 12 RCF HDL6-A and 24 RCF HDL26-A line arrays with TT25-CXA coaxial 15-inch floor monitors. The system did not disappoint.”
An unexpected bonus came from the reduced requirement for generator power. “It’s hard to believe that with 36 cabinets we were only pulling 21 amps total during the event,” Ogletree notes. “The efficiency, reliability and incredible customer service we receive for our entire RCF inventory makes it a no-brainer to stick with the brand.”
Ogletree employed RCF’s Shape Designer array calculator and RDNet prediction software for the event prep. “It was spot-on for this location. We loaded the RDNet settings and walked the entire stadium. We were more than pleased with the intelligibility. The stacks covered the stadium seating very well with a small footprint, so family and friends could see their loved ones cross the first big hurdle we all face that is graduating high school. We were happy to be a part of this and look forward to next year.”
