Ramtech Builds Mega Splitter for The Dead

FLAGLER BEACH, FL — For the Grateful Dead’s “Fare Thee Well” tour, soundco Pro Media Ultra Sound turned to Ramtech for the complicated stage input and output system requirements. “Ramtech has always come through for us in the past and being the manufacturers of the RamLatch —  which most of our systems are comprised of — they were the natural choice,” said Derek Featherstone of Pro Media Ultra Sound.

Ramtech responded with the design and construction of a four-way, transformer-isolated splitter with two direct RamLatch outputs — one with ground lift switches and two RamLatch transformer-isolated outputs using Jensen JT-MB-D isolation transformers and both with ground lift switches.

“Anytime you have that many splits, the design and construction of the box is complicated. You have to anticipate and test for the added loads of a fourth split,” said Lawrence Rambo of Ramtech Inc.

“We are really proud to be trusted by Pro Media to build the main stage input system for what will probably go down as one of the most watched shows worldwide in history,” said Rambo.
