BANGALORE, India – CULTFEST, a new experiential and emotive music festival featuring bands and artists from around the world across genres with cult status and following, was started by Abhijith Cuddapah and Sachet Kadam, Directors of Music Fodder Music Ventures Pvt. Ltd.
The inaugural edition of CULTFEST, featuring the Metal Music genre was headlined by the legendary Death Metal band CANNIBAL CORPSE and Death Core stalwarts SUICIDE SILENCE. Opening acts were by 3 Indian Metal bands.
Sound Production for CULTFEST 2015 was designed & executed by SD AUDIO, who deployed an extensive Harman Pro sound system that featured JBL VerTec speakers powered by Crown ITech-HD Amplifiers and Soundcraft Vi6 digital mixing console on FOH.
SD AUDIO’s sound system consisted of 20 nos. JBL VerTec VT4889, 4 nos. JBL VerTec VT4886 as down-fills, and 16 nos. JBL VerTec VT4880A/CSR Subs.
The stage monitoring system comprised of 12 nos. VRX915M Bi-amped. The Left & Right side-fills used 8 elements VerTec VT4886 and 6 subs. VerTec VT4883. All monitors were powered by Crown ITech-HD Amplifiers. The stage monitoring was excuted by Mallesh Devadiga Chief engineer at SD Audio who preferred an Digidesign Sc48 MOH console. Mallesh commented, “The I/O 16 insert card on the Sc48 made is extremely flexible to use external processers & EQ’s. Stage monitoring was a breeze with the VT4886 & VT4883 system as side fills and the VRX915M.
JBL HiQnet Performance Manager ensured great control and monitoring interface for the entire sound system.
Vishnu Pandit, Managing Director of SD AUDIO, was very happy with the response he received from the visiting FOH Engineers. Vishnu commented that “The VerTecs as always were sounding fantastic. Now the JBL HiQnet Performance Manager has simplified the job for the System Engineer, to align & tune the system says Vishnu. The entire System was designed and tuned by Sanak Pandit our System Engineer and he did a great job.
Sanak stated “JBL HiQNet Performance Manager has simplified my job as a System Tech. It is now so easy to do the System Tuning, Time-Align, Bandpass-check & EQ the PA, and also do any Array Correction. I used Easera SysTunes to fine-tune the system. The VerTec V5 Presets provide sonic consistency, thanks to Mr. Paul Bauman JBL Harman Pro Group.”
