These range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars, but all offer a grab-and-go package that offers an easy solution with individual transducers matched for the job at hand.

That’s not to say you have to limit yourself to what’s included in the case — you may end up using the supplied snare mic in a dual-mic, under-snare application, paired with another mic on top, or add a couple more mics to the stew to cover a larger kit, percussion table, etc. In any case, we decided to look at some top-of-the-line offerings and found choices to suit anyone’s needs or budget.
