LONDON — Karl Brazil, drummer of choice for Robbie Williams’ “Swings Both Ways” tour, will be using his Porter & Davies BC2 drum throne LF monitoring system as he plays to millions this summer. The 40-date European arena tour kicks off this week in Hungary and moves to Austria, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland and the U.K., continuing in September across Australia.
Drummer Brazil came to prominence recording and playing with James Blunt and has gone on to play with Take That, Olly Murs, Leona Lewis, Girls Aloud, Joss Stone, Feeder and Robbie Williams. Speaking of his BC2, Brazil said “it’s the biggest kick up the arse I’ve ever had! A great, easy and efficient way to enhance the feel and low-end from your drums.”
The Porter & Davies BC2 is a silent tactile drum monitor that lets drummers feel the vibrations of the bass drum. The system includes an amp/preamp/mixer module in tabletop, roadcase or rack mount variations. Features include XLR mic input (with switchable onboard phantom power), mic thru output to feed the FOH or monitor console and standard Neutrik Speakon NL4 cable output to feed the Speakon transducer input built into the seat. Several throne seat shapes are offered as options.
