ESCONDIDO, CA – Sound Image issued a press release lauding the accomplishments of Kenneth (Ted) Bible, who won the 2013 Parnelli Award for Monitor Mixer of the Year at the 2013 ceremony held at the Las Vegas Mirage in late November. Bible has been with Sound Image since 2001.
More details from Sound Image (www.sound-image.com):
In recent years, Ted Bible had the opportunity to work on several high-profile tours, including: Def Leppard, Imagine Dragons, Lenny Kravitz, Rod Stewart, Tom Petty, and Prince.
This particular award was given to Ted for the outstanding work he’s doing on the Def Leppard tour. As Ted puts it, “The group is like a family. I wouldn’t have won anything without the help from the entire team. The band is the nicest and most friendly, forgiving and supportive I’ve ever worked with; a true class act.”
Over his 12 years with SI, Bible has gained unparalleled experience, having been exposed to a wide variety of equipment, and many diverse operational rolls. On the Def Leppard tour, Ted bounces from Monitors, to Systems Engineer, to Part-Time Crew Chief. “I have also been the guy that loads 3 trucks at the end of the gig, [it’s all] part of the team effort.”
As Monitor Engineer, Bible has taken a liking to the DiGiCo Consoles. As he puts it, “I’ve been on a D5 for the past several years, but plan on moving up to an SD5 for the upcoming tours. I also dig the Shure PSM1000. [It has] made my job as a Monitor Engineer easier.”
Ted continues, “My favorite thing about mixing monitors is when I get to the end of the show and everything has gone well, and we’ve put on a great show for the crowd.”
Ted would like to give a special thanks to, “Ronan McHugh for making me take the monitor position (temporarily) three years ago, and Nate Klaser who has been by my side every since I took the Job!” Bible goes on to say that, “I would like to dedicate this award to two of my mentors, Jim Douglas and Ross Ritto, [who are] gone but not forgotten!”
Over the years, Sound Image has compiled quite a few Parnelli Awards as a company, but it takes on a whole new meaning when one of our employees is independently-recognized for their excellence.
Because of his tour schedule, Bible was not able to accept this award in person. Mike Sprague, SI’s Director of Touring, accepted the award for Ted and gave an acceptance speech in his place.
