BUENA PARK, CA — Yamaha Corporation of America, Professional Audio Division promoted Marc Lopez to director of marketing for Commercial Audio (CA). The company also named Sorrell Hanson marketing communications manager for the Pro Audio Division. Lopez joined the company in 1997. Hanson brings 14 years of marketing experience to the company. She will be responsible for managing marketing campaigns and will report directly to Lopez.

Yamaha Corporation of America, Professional Audio Division has announced the promotion of Marc Lopez to the position of director of marketing for Commercial Audio (CA), responsible for all marketing aspects of CA products.
In 1997, Lopez began his Yamaha career as an applications specialist for Yamaha digital mixers and later as software product manager. Prior to his promotion to director of marketing, he held the position of marketing manager for Yamaha Commercial Audio for 10 years.
“Marc’s deep knowledge of the commercial audio business, combined with excellent marketing instincts, makes him a truly valuable member of the management team,” says Alan Macpherson, general manager, Yamaha Professional Audio.
In other Yamaha staff news Sorrell Hanson has joined the company in the role of marketing communications manager for the Pro Audio Division. Sorrell has 14 years of marketing experience that includes email and web marketing, social and digital campaigns, website management, marketing promotions and project management. As marketing communications manager, Hanson will be responsible for managing marketing campaigns for print, email, social media and digital opportunities and will report directly to Marc Lopez.
