YUCAIPA, CA – Trinity Sound Company (TSC) recently upgraded the 30-year-old sound system at the Yucaipa Church with JBL VRX compact Constant Curvature line arrays. The new loudspeaker system is located in the church's square-shaped 500-seat multipurpose event room, which is used for worship, concerts, movies and general events.
TSC covered the room with two main arrays, each including four small-scale JBL VRX928LA dual 8-inch line array speakers and a VRX915S 1×15-inch subwoofer. The room was designed with its stage in the front right corner and the front-of-house sound booth in the rear left corner, resulting in a wide fill area in between.
Each VRX928LA enclosure includes a high frequency waveguide with two compression drivers mounted on a continuous arc, enabling them to work together acoustically as if they were a single driver for consistent, even coverage.
"The room was just big enough where plug-and-play, left/right speakers wouldn't have provided the best sound, but small enough that a large line array was unnecessary," said Devin DeVore, owner and head engineer at TSC, who credited the JBL VRX928LA arrays for "pleasing the client and delivering great sound."
"It's nice to put a speaker system in and know that the product will sound exactly how it has been advertised," added DeVore. "There is no exaggeration with JBL equipment. What it says, it does – right on the money."
