WASHINGTON, DC–When Robert Parker, Jr and Pierre-Antoine Rovani, the world's preeminent wine critics, joined with friends to launch the Wine Advocate Fund for Philanthropy and the First Annual Legendary One Hundred Point Wine Weekend, they strived for the "Best of the Best." The gastronomic extravaganza included extraordinary food and fabulous wine, with Sennheiser wireless systems providing the finishing touch. On Saturday, June 3, a celebration occurred at the historic mansion, Halcyon House in Georgetown to raise money to find a cure for cancer and to provide pre-schools for at-risk kids. The evening featured "the best wines within the last 100 years," according to Parker, founder, editor, and publisher of The Wine Advocate with co-author Pierre-Antoine Rovani. Together they have helped raise millions of dollars for various charitablecauses all over the world.

Nomad Event Systems, Arlington, Virginia, a full-service event provider for such high profile events as the Presidential Inaugural Ball, handled the production for the event. Sennheiser EM550G2 true diversity dual-channel receivers with 1,440 tunable UHF frequencies were deployed, alongside the SKM935G2 handheld transmitters, and the compact SK500G2 bodypack transmitters.

Sennheiser PXC300 noise-canceling headphones complimented the evening's live auction travel packages. "We wanted to add a high-quality item to the auction packages that would offer instant gratification," said Marc Cohen, one of the founders of the One Hundred Point Wine Weekend and CEO and Chairman of OPNET Technologies, Inc. "These headphones are the perfect travel companion and complemented the auction packages nicely."

The event netted over $1.3 million for charity and plans are in the works for the Wine Advocate Fund's 2007 "Best of the Best" event.
