More details from Wenger Solutions (www.wengercorp.com):
With its new products Transcend and Transform at USITT, Wenger provides options for variable acoustics, helping theatre professionals make their performance spaces truly multipurpose: able to host a variety of events from spoken word to rock concerts and symphonies, and anything in between.
Transcend Active Acoustics improves the uniformity of sound throughout the performance space. Even formerly problematic areas like under the balcony or in the rear of the balcony can enjoy good acoustics. This state-of-the-art, yet affordable, system was developed in cooperation with HARMAN specifically for active acoustics, using premium components including Crown amplifiers, JBL speakers and Lexicon processors.
Like Transcend, Transform Acoustical Banners also provide variable acoustics for performance venues, but the two products offer different approaches. Transform Banners add sound absorption from motorized fabric banners that help reduce reverberation time, especially for “live” spaces. Transcend does the opposite – adding reverberation time to acoustically “dead” spaces. (Booth 1027)
