It all kicks off this weekend in Portland!
Ten years ago, the Dirtybird label coalesced around a grill party in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Those free parties, thrown using a sound-system bought on layaway, were pivotal in defining the Dirtybird style and attitude.
Ten years later, the sell out crowds attending Dirtybird BBQ’s experience bigger bass and crystal clear highs through advanced sound systems provided by Void Acoustics with the support of Void’s production partner in America, AIS.
The label has proven to be one of North America’s most definitive and fun dance music labels, with its signature blend of techno and house, passed through a hip-hop crunkifier, still getting booties shakin’, sweat flying and underground connoisseurs nodding heads in approval.
The Dirtybird Records family may take its music very seriously, but they are not serious people. The ethos underpinning the label has remained the same since those impromptu park parties – good times, good people, good food, and above all good jams.
With VonStroke at the helm and ten years to celebrate, we can expect the core and expanding Dirtybird family to be joining him on the road this summer, with Void Acoustics, some VERY special guests, and of course, the original Dirtybird BBQ auteur, Grillson, to be fanning the flames behind the grill.
