CHICAGO – Sensaphonics has announced the promotion of three more audiologists into its Golden Circle network. The company remains the only provider of custom in-ear monitoring (IEM) solutions to specifically train audiologists on serving the unique needs of musicians and sound engineers.
The latest Sensaphonics Golden Circle seminar graduates are Steve Grayson-Riley of Musicians Hearing Services in Brisbane, Australia; Jamie Sargent of Audiology Providers in Frisco, TX (near Dallas); and Sally Reyes of All About Hearing, Inc. in Midland, TX. Grayson-Riley is now the first Golden Circle audiologist based in Australia.

The two-day Golden Circle seminar was taught by Sensaphonics president Dr. Michael Santucci and audio engineering consultant Thom "Sound Guy" Fiegle. Using small group instruction and hands-on demonstration, the seminar provides a wide-ranging knowledge in theory and practice of IEM, along with the basics of sound systems and the specific needs of musicians.

The seminar includes a tour of the Sensaphonics custom manufacturing lab in Chicago and concludes with a field trip to Reelsounds Studios in nearby Skokie, IL. At the studio, Thom Fiegle uses a live band rehearsal to demonstrate and reinforce the basics of PA and IEM systems, giving the Golden Circle attendees a backstage experience.

"More and more audiologists are being asked to provide services to musicians, who are very different from their other patients," said Santucci. "It's just not something they teach you in audiology programs. The Golden Circle seminar gives audiologists the knowledge and hands-on experience to work comfortably and professionally in the music world."
