MILWAUKEE, WI – Sven Pro Sound recently upgraded the sound system of the rapidly growing Transformation City Church. The newly installed Apogee sound system includes AE5 two-way speakers and a single APL-SB self-powered subwoofer.

Jason Butler, the pastor of Transformation City Church, was searching out a cost-effective but still professional way of integrating a sound system into their newer building. The church was running a portable speaker system that was adequate but cosmetically unattractive. The church connected with Isaac Svien of Sven Pro Sound by coincidence and he immediately started looking for a solution that would be high-quality and cost effective. After going through numerous design requirements and the church’s budget, Isaac then brought in Brady Garrison, Chief Systems Integrator at Sven Pro Sound, who designed the system for the room and its numerous physical challenges.
The room contained two large air ducts that prevented the speakers from being hung in a left-right configuration. Brady suggested a center cluster of two Apogee AE5 speakers to cover the entire main room and then a pair of JBL Control delay speakers in the rear annex.
To match the headroom of the proposed system, an Apogee self-powered single 18” sub, the Apogee APL-SB, was also included in the design. The entire system would be driven by Crown XTI series amps, mainly for the built in delay and EQ functions for system tuning. A Middle Atlantic power sequencer was added to assist in making the system volunteer-friendly, with only one power switch to turn on the entire system in sequential order.
Following in line with Sven Pro Sound’s philosophy of not only proposing a system that looks good on paper, but also a system that sounds good and right in the space. Brady and Isaac arranged a demo of the actual proposed system and the system immediately sold itself. In addition to the aesthetically better look of the proposed system, it was much clearer, more even in its coverage, and more enveloping than the old system.
An installation date was confirmed for only two weeks later and the entire system was installed by Brady Garrison and riggers in one day with some additional fine tuning later in the week. The system was ready to rock for the church’s Sunday worship service that week. The entire project from initial contact to installation only took one month to complete.
