CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — Parachute, based here, the opening act for Andy Grammer this spring, is being mixed at FOH and monitors by Jamison ‘Jam’ Butcher, who is using a Midas PRO2 supplied by Frankford, IL based Soundworks Productions.
More details from Jam Butcher (www.JamisonButcher.com):
Charlottesville, Virginia natives, Parachute (Will Anderson, Kit French, Alex Hargrave, Nate McFarland, Johnny Stubblefield) are no strangers to the road, having toured in support of their previous records with acts including Need To Breathe, The Goo Goo Dolls and Kelly Clarkson. The guys are gearing up to hit the road with Andy Grammer this Spring in support of their newly released, heat seeking single, “Hearts Go Crazy” and a new album set to release this year via Mercury Records. With Jamison ‘Jam’ Butcher (All Time Low, Boys Like Girls) on double duty as the bands Front Of House and Monitor engineer Parachute is currently being mixed with a Midas Pro2.
Supplied by Frankford, IL based audio providers, Soundworks Productions, the PRO2 delivers exactly what Jamison needs. “I love how real is sounds; I feel very in control with Pro2. It’s a perfect fit for us right now – we’re running 5 stereo IEM’s and about 38 inputs from stage. While prepping for the tour I was able to build my entire show with the offline editor, which will really speed things up day one. When communicating with Andy Grammers audio team, we decided on PRO2 for its ‘Midas Sound’, small footprint and the iPad app didn’t hurt the decision making either. It seemed like a no brainer; I’m excited to put PRO2 to the test.”
Along with the PRO2, Jamison is using a full mic, stand and cable package supplied by Soundworks. The Pro2 came with the DL251 remote stage-box and a range of microphones to accommodate Parachutes input list.
