CHICAGO, IL – Sensaphonics held another one of its two-day Golden Circle 2011 seminars, which teach audiologists the specific skills and knowledge needed to work with musicians and audio engineers. Sensaphonics president and founder Dr. Michael Santucci and sound engineering consultant Thom Fiegle taught the course.
"Musicians are totally different from any other client an audiologist is likely to see," said Santucci. "They deserve more than just a ‘goop shooter' to take ear impressions. Sensaphonics Golden Circle members are among the few who have the specialized expertise to serve these clients properly, combining their knowledge of safe listening and the requirements of live performance."
Graduates from the recent seminar include Dr. Judith A. Curtin and Francis H. Curtin, BSEE, of ABC Hearing Net in West Chester, PA; Dr. Shelley Boelter of SoundSource in Portland, OR; and Dr. Kevin S. Ballard of McIntee ENT and Laser Center in Quincy, IL.
The seminar uses personalized, small-group instruction and includes instruction on hearing health strategies for musicians, specific product knowledge on in-ear monitoring, and sound system basics.
