LIVINGSTON, NJ – Scott Hibbard at Scott Hibbard Audio used several Ashly products to power a center cluster of passive loudspeakers that were part of an effective sound reinforcement system within the gym at Newark Academy, a private school in Livington, NJ for students in grades 6-12.

More details from Ashly (www.ashly.com):

Says Scott Hibbard, “The system had to be intuitive and easy to use, as the gymnasium is utilized by both physical education instructors and various coaches at the school as well as outside organizations that use the space on the weekends. With this in mind, I designed a fully-functioning two-zone sound system without the end user needing extensive knowledge of how to operate the system.”

In Hibbard’s design, the Ashly mXa-1502 powers four smaller speakers for the 2nd floor skyboxes, with a local WR1.1 for volume control. The powerful mXa1502 mixer amplifier is equipped with Ashly’s next-generation DSP software, AquaControl, which offers a myriad of possibilities for control and configuration, accessible from any device with a web browser. This flexibility ensures that users can easily manage the system from virtually anywhere. The 16 channel DSP matrix-mixer, advanced processing, two-channel amplification, and 1RU size makes the mXa1502 a strong, compact, and capable amplifier and DSP for any system, and a perfect choice for the Newark Academy’s new system design.

Adding to the system’s robustness, is an Ashly FX 750.4, which is bridged into two 1,500-watt channels, each bridged channel powering two Danley Sound Labs SM90 speakers with 750 watts per speaker. The FX750.4 amplifier provides additional power, ensuring ample headroom and delivering clear, powerful sound. Hibbard notes that he chose the FX 750.4 amplifier after having success with previous installations of its less powerful sister, the FX 500.4.

Says Hibbard, “I am a big fan of the powerful, yet simple DSP interface of the FX series amplifiers. The result is a sound system reminiscent of a much larger sports arena. Vocal intelligibility is outstanding, and music brings the gymnasium alive with energy and school spirit.”

This combination of the mXa1502 and FX750.4 not only enhances the audio experience but also guarantees reliability and performance for various applications at Newark Academy, and Ashly is proud to have provided the equipment to make it all possible.
