BETHLEHEM, PA — The recently-opened $743 million Sands Casino Resort here is using Audinate’s Dante audio networking solution, a self configuring plugâ€andâ€play digital audio network using standard internet protocols, as the foundation for its AV system.
To route audio and control data, Dante replaces analog cables with an Ethernet cable, which improves timing with very low latency for audio to be transported across the
network. Dante operates on both 100Mbps and 1 Gigabit Ethernet networks.
Using Dante, which is incorporated into Peavey’s MediaMatrix NION DSP system, Sands connected over 250 speakers throughout the casino property, creating 34 independent zones.
Each zone is capable of delivering unique audio content to patrons in that location. While zones can operate independently, they can all be controlled and managed from a single kiosk using Audinate’s networking solution. This gives the staff flexibility to administer the full network from any AV kiosk in the casino.
