LAS VEGAS — RC1 Productions, headed by veteran FOH engineer Rick Camp (Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé, J-Lo, Chris Brown, Anita Baker), has signed on to K-array’s North American distribution network. Camp has been a proponent of the company’s slim design, steerable Firenze KH8 touring system, after hearing the speakers in a large space five years ago at the Sleep Train Amphitheater in Chula Vista, CA (just south of San Diego).

Based in Florence, Italy, K-array (www.k-array.com) has installs all over Europe, Asia and China, especially with its line of flat panel speaker designs that reduce the truck space needed down to a quarter of what conventional line array systems need to accommodate any given venue and also cut rigging times down to one quarter of the time required for other large-format systems.

One of Camp’s first projects in his new capacity was designing and installing Southern California’s first K-array KH2/KS5 steerable array system in the 2,700-seat “The Rock Church & Outreach Center” church in San Bernardino, CA.

The main flown system has four KH2 mid high boxes and a double-21 KS5 subwoofer per side. Front fill is comprised of six Anakonda KAN 200+ flexible array speakers mounted on the front lip of the stage, coupled with two single-21” KMT21P subs mounted under the stage.
