Quest Sound Putting Renkus-Heinz Gear Through its Paces

AUGUSTA, GA – Quest Sound, which covers the East Coast from Washington, D.C. to the Florida panhandle, has been using a rig built around a Renkus-Heinz CF101-LA modular point source array loudspeaker system to meet the widely varying needs of its clients.
"We handle everything from local gigs with small combos to larger national acts, and the CF101 cabinets provide the versatility to cover it all," noted Quest Sound's Rob Boggs. "Recently we used a pair them on sticks with a jazz band, playing to around 100 people here in Augusta. The same week, we did a festival down in Florida with close to 1,000 people and ran 14 different bands through the system."

"In the past few months, we've used them on music ranging from the Julliard Jazz Band to Shawn Mullins to the band Saliva, as well as speaking events and even the announcements for the American Strong Man competition," Boggs added. "They deliver great intelligibility as well as really nice, full-range musical performance. With Julliard Jazz, I used a pair of them and didn't even need a sub – they carry low enough to deliver a nice clean upright bass sound."

With a full calendar of summer shows coming up, Quest Sound's CF-Series cabinets will be getting a regular workout. "The CF-101s have really delivered – they're total workhorses," said Boggs. "Definitely one of the best investments we've made, and we're already looking at getting more."
