PORTLAND, OR — The Oregon Convention Center (OCC) is among the nation’s most eco-friendly and technically advanced, with fiber optics connecting the OCC’s one million square feet of space, using digital signal processing to divide the audio system into a nearly endless series of configurations for a multitude of different events.
The latest phase of their renovation includes nearly 200 Community R.5-66BTZ loudspeakers throughout the venue. The hall’s high ceilings required a medium-throw solution that could deliver the pattern control needed to allow multiple zones of coverage.
The vertically mounted black R.5 units were well-suited to the OCC’s wide open spaces and virtually disappeared once they were mounted in the ceiling.
