LAS VEGAS — The Parnelli Board of Advisors announces that the 12th Annual Parnelli Awards will be held Oct. 20 at the Mirage Resort and Casino. To date, more than a dozen sponsors have signed on in support of the annual awards gala. “It’s a big, beautiful room, and it’s the perfect setting for what will be our best awards show yet,” says Parnelli executive producer and FRONT of HOUSE/PLSN publisher Terry Lowe. “It’s conveniently close to the convention center where LDI is held, and is certainly suitable for the amazing group of industry pioneers we’ll be honoring that evening.”

Receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award is Charlie Hernandez (Def Leppard, Guns N’ Roses, Sting/Police). The Audio Innovator Award goes to Dave Shadoan (co-founder of Sound Image). The Visionary Award goes to Joe Branam (rigging pioneer, founder of Branam Entertainment). In previous years, there’s been plenty of special guests and surprises from artists including Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn and Paul Anka, and Lowe hints that it’s likely it’ll be another entertaining show.

The Board is also pleased to announce the first round of sponsors. “No one disputes that those who toil away in the live event industry making their artist look so good deserve a night themselves, which is what the Parnelli Awards are,” says Parnelli executive director Patrick Stansfield. “However, the Parnelli Program obviously could not happen without the generous support of the progressive, innovative sponsors who fund our aims and the Awards Show production in a very tangible way. This is about honoring our very best and upholding our shared values and we thank all for their continued involved for the 12th year — and still growing stronger!”

Currently Gold Sponsors include All Access Staging & Production; Branam Enterprises; Brown United; CT Touring; Harman (AKG, BSS, Crown, dbx, JBL, Soundcraft); JH Audio; Meyer Sound; Rock-it Cargo; Sennheiser/K-array/Neumann; Strictly FX; Tannoy/Lab.gruppen; Tour Tech East; and Ultratec Special Effects.

Silver Sponsors include: Chauvet; Elation; Hemphill Brothers; Pyrotek Special Effects; and Yamaha Commercial.

“This is a great beginning for the 2012 Parnellis,” says Lowe. “It is always an advantage for sponsors to get involved early, as the sooner a company gets involved, the more benefits they reap — and the more companies get involved, the better the show.” He adds that they hope to break last year’s record of 44 sponsors. While five months away, the event is already slated to sell out as it has the last three years it’s been held in Las Vegas.
