LAS VEGAS – The Parnelli Board of Advisors, in association with PLSN and FRONT of HOUSE magazines, announce a new award to be presented at the 19th Annual Parnelli Awards, set for Jan. 17, 2020, at the Anaheim Hilton during Winter NAMM: the NextGen.
“Increasingly, members of the board spoke out about the need to recognize younger talent in our industry,” says Terry Lowe, Parnelli Awards executive producer and publisher of PLSN and FOH. “So we are looking for the younger generation who are making their mark in the live entertainment industry today. Those who are leaving their footprint wherever they gig on these new world tours, televised events, and huge festivals that have become so common place these days. Productions are getting larger, with engineering marvels abounding for all of these genres of our business. The business is changing, and we want to honor those who are changing it.”
A nomination form to honor exceptional talent coming up through the ranks is now online at ParnelliAwards.com. Along with tips from readers, PLSN and FOH editors, senior writers, columnists and Parnelli board members are on the lookout for new talent worthy of consideration.
“We on the Parnelli Advisor Committee are looking for that young, remarkable person who has earned your respect, whether they are working in lighting, audio, video or staging,” says Parnelli producer and PLSN/FOH senior writer Kevin Mitchell. “Maybe they’re just slaying in ways that just wow you, or they are coming up with design ideas that are imaginative and inspired. We’d also like to know about up-and-coming production, stage, and road managers out there. We want to hear about all these people. The winner will receive the Parnelli NextGen Award at the 19th annual Parnelli Awards on Jan. 17, 2019 at the Hilton Anaheim located next to the Anaheim Convention Center during NAMM’s annual convention and as part of NAMM Live.
