CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – The NSCA Education Foundation and Bosch's Communications Systems Division are partnering to offer three $2,500 scholarships in memory of company founder Robert Bosch and longtime employee Monte Wise.
Two scholarships, in memory of Robert Bosch, will be awarded to qualified applicants interested in the commercial electronics systems industry who are recent high school graduates or who are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree.
The third scholarship, in memory of Wise, will be awarded to an applicant based on his or her goals and achievements in music, arts and sound reinforcement – Wise's specialty.
"We hope our partnership with the NSCA Education Foundation clearly demonstrates a hands-on commitment to the future of AV, while honoring the memory of industry greats like our friend and colleague Monte Wise, who was an excellent mentor to many up-and-coming audio professionals," said Daniel Nix, vice president of sales, Bosch Communications Systems.
Tom Frericks, president of the NSCA Education Foundation, said the Foundation appreciated Bosch's continued investment in the future .
"Both organizations are committed to creating a foundation for learning and training," Frericks said. "These scholarships support values established in the early careers of technicians, installers, and designers and positively affect the organizations they work for as well as the industry at large."
The NSCA Education Foundation supports the next generation of the commercial electronic systems industry by providing scholarships and working with colleges, vocational/technical schools, community colleges and high schools to educate students about the opportunities that exist in this industry.
Any high school senior or college student with a GPA of at least 2.0 who is also pursuing a career in electronic systems is eligible to apply for a scholarship. The award may be used for tuition at any accredited, post-secondary institution. Applications are due May 31 and will be awarded in July.
