NEUTRIK Marks 2-billionth Connector During 50th Anniversary Celebrations
The 2-billionth NEUTRIK connector was presented to Georg Wohlwend, delegate of Neutrik’s Board of Directors, during the company’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

SCHAAN, Liechtenstein – NEUTRIK recently celebrated reaching the milestone of the creation of the 2-billionth connector with a civic reception at Neutrik Group headquarters in Schaan, Liechtenstein. A guest list of 45 included invitees from national and local government and media, as well as from within the company and its partner networks. Welcoming speeches were given by Robert Büchel, Liechtenstein Minister of Economic Affairs and Markus Beck, Deputy Mayor of Schaan. Also present was Manfred Kaufmann, President of the Liechtenstein Parliament.

The event featured a celebratory program of presentations that included a retrospective of five decades of the world’s leading connector brand, and the presentation of the 2-billionth NEUTRIK connector to Georg Wohlwend, delegate of the Board of Directors for the Neutrik Group.

The presentation of the opticalCON HYBRID MED connector – a powerful milestone in NEUTRIK’s history – had particular significance, given the precision devices are assembled in the company’s specialist on-site production facility at Schaan. opticalCON® HYBRID MED epitomises NEUTRIK’s commitment to the development of cutting-edge connectivity solutions for use in the most demanding application environments.

Designed specifically for the healthcare sector, to transmit high resolution images and video in operating theatres, opticalCON HYBRID MED reduces trip hazards in the surgical room. The smooth connector design is very easy to handle and can be cleaned with minimal effort, while the optical connection is exceptionally well protected by its lenses and an additional sealing cover. The pre-assembled male to male cable incorporates 16 multimode fiber channels and 2 power pins. The fiber-lens based technology achieves a robust, high bandwidth signal with minimal loss, transmitting data simultaneously over the 16 fiber channels.

Since its inception in 1975, the NEUTRIK brand has been at the forefront of interconnect technology, consistently redefining industry standards and norms. From its iconic XLR and speakON connectors to the revolutionary powerCON power connectivity series, and the advancements inherent in opticalCON fiber optic and etherCON data solutions, NEUTRIK has engineered the means by which these technologies can be deployed in heavy-duty, professional production applications, including in outdoor extreme environments.

Marking its milestone half-century, and celebrating the brand’s accomplishments and vision for the future, a special limited edition 50th Anniversary product line has been issued to commemorate this historic occasion. This commences with the release of special anniversary edition male and female XLR connectors and a ¼ inch instrument plug. These feature a new conductive zinc-based coating, providing an aesthetic dark grey metallic finish with a laser-engraved NEUTRIK 50 YEARS anniversary commemorative logo.

The new coating provides optimal corrosion protection with full electrical isolation, in compliance with the latest RoHS and REACH requirements. Combining exceptional durability with elegant design, gold-plated contacts ensure superior performance and reliability. The female XLR features a matching plated push button for seamless design integration.

Commenting for the Neutrik Group, Georg Wohlwend stated: “For 50 years, NEUTRIK has set the standard in connectivity, enabling our customers to achieve incredible feats in audio, video, data and power applications. As we look ahead, we remain steadfast in our commitment to innovation and reliability, ensuring that NEUTRIK remains synonymous with excellence for generations to come.”
