LAS VEGAS — Music Group announced that it is acquiring loudspeaker manufacturer Turbosound.  The company also announced the formation of a global Professional Division that brings together its Midas, Klark Teknik and  Turbosound brands, and named Philip Hart vice president of the division.

“Since the acquisition of Midas and Klark Teknik, we have been pursuing a loudspeaker brand that complements the consoles and processing offered by these historic brands,” said Music Group founder and CEO Uli Behringer, calling Turbosound “the ideal match” because of their “extensive IP, sterling reputation and a first-class team of people. I am very proud to welcome Simon Blackwood and his team to our family.”

Based in West Sussex, England, Turbosound has made advances in loudspeaker technology through three decades, earning the Queen’s Award three times, including an award for Innovation in 2012.

Hoping to deliver complete system solutions to touring and install customers, Music Group said the combination of the Turbosound, Midas and Klark Teknik brands represents a new range of choice for demanding applications.

The company also predicted that Turbosound would benefit from Music Group’s infrastructure while retaining their own manufacturing, sales, marketing and distribution network worldwide.

The new Professional division will leverage synergies between the brands to deliver integrated solutions to Live Sound, Touring and Install customers and applications, while driving new product development aimed at higher levels of integration and control.
