MONTREAL – Meyer Sound has been named the official Sound Supplier of the Montreal International Jazz Festival (June 25-July 6, 2010). While Meyer Sound equipment has been used at the festival in previous years, 2010 marks the first season that Meyer Sound's sound systems will be used exclusively throughout all festival venues.
Montreal-based Solotech, which has provided Meyer Sound equipment to the festival for over a decade, will continue to provide festival-wide audio systems and support.
"We are extremely pleased to be so closely involved with a festival of this stature," said Helen Meyer, Meyer Sound's executive vice president. "The range of musical talent is extraordinary – it's only natural that we provide sound systems to match."
"We are proud to have this extraordinary opportunity to increase the sound quality on every stage of our festival thanks to our new partnership with Meyer Sound," said Mikaël Frascadore, production services director, Montréal International Jazz Festival and Les Francofolies De Montréal.
For its 31st year, the 2010 Montreal International Jazz Festival is presenting artists ranging from Sonny Rollins and Bobby McFerrin to Émelie Clepper and the Yosvany Terry Quartet. The festival opens June 25 with an opening gala featuring Lionel Richie and Cassandra Wilson. Meyer Sound's participation with the festival was facilitated by its Canadian distributor Gerr Audio.
