COLUMBUS, OH — Jeff Dunham’s 2009 comedy tour may be called “Spark of Insanity,” but Live! Technologies, which is handling audio, lighting, video and staging for the Comedy Central standout is all about keeping things sane — and audible. To ensure the audio system reaches the last row, Live! Technologies is using EV XLine speakers, pictured here.
The “Spark of Insanity” touring rig comprises 12 X-Line boxes on mains, six X-Array enclosures for side hangs, and a pair of Xw12A speakers for the monitor mix, all powered by EV P3000 amplifiers.
“Because of our size, our extensive equipment resources, and our experience on the road, we can handle the scope of work required for this kind of tour, all within house,” said Live! Technologies VP Shawn Lovenguth. Promoter Robin Tate called Live! “a great fit.”
Along with audio technician Doug Maynard, Live! Technologies’ crew includes FOH engineer Montie Temple, crew chief/head rigger Steve Quinn, camera operator/carpenter, Timothy Bates, video director Brandon Mendenhall, video technician Kelly Walsh, lighting director Matt Reid and lighting technician Brian Mann. Live! also provides two truck drivers: Mike Skrastins and Matt Claus.
“Because we have invested in people, training and equipment, Live! Technologies can provide clients with the complete audio-visual package,” said Rusty Ranney, president and CEO. “Even though we have expanded our business to include corporate clients and special events, we love getting back out on tour. We take pride in being able to hit the road running, and we are honored to have been chosen to work with Jeff Dunham and Tate Entertainment.”
